Amarone bike tour

3,5 ore
An easy bike tour to discover Valpolicella, the land of the famous Amarone wine.
We will meet at Porta Borsari just a few steps from the bike rental where you will receive the bike, the helmet and the lock.
Initially we will skirt the ancient city walls and in a short time we will arrive in the heart of Valpantena, a valley famous for the wine and olive oil production, located on the east part of the Valpolicella region.
Along the way, we will stop along the way in a couple of vineyards for some explanations about the vine training systems: the “pergola veronese”, the local style and the “guyot” the French cultivation system. I will also provide you some informations about the grape varieties used in the Amarone production.
Finally, the stop will be at a family-run winery where a member of the family will guide us in the vineyard, in the drying room, in the fermentation area and in the barrel room.
The tasting includes 4 wines: a local white wine, Valpolicella Ripasso, Amarone and the sweet wine Recioto paired with local cheeses, cured meat and bread with extravergine olive oil of own production.
Amarone bike tour’s route is about 15 KM long and flat, almost entirely on bike path and country roads.
