Amarone and olive oil bike tour

Bike tour in Valpolicella with visit to the olive oil mill and Amarone cellar.
The eastern part of Valpolicella is located just outside the walls of Verona and can be easily reached by flat roads and cycle paths.
We will meet at Porta Borsari where you will receive the bikes, helmets and padlocks. We will ride through the historic center, along the city walls and in a few minutes we will reach the Veronese countryside, surrounded by vineyards, lush hills and olive groves.
At the oil mill we will visit an olive grove and the different production areas Thanks to a video, all the steps of extraction of extra virgin olive oil will be illustrated. Following a tasting of different types of olive oils, olive patè and other products of the oil mill, accompanied by slices of bread.
After another ride, through country roads, we will reach a family-run cellar where we will be guided through the vineyard, in the fruit cellar dedicated to the drying of the grapes and in the barrel rooms where the Amarone wine is matured. The tasting includes 4 local wines: a refreshing local white, Valpolicella Ripasso, Amarone and the sweet Recioto wine, paired with cold cuts, cheeses and oil bruschetta.
The route is about 20 km long, flat and almost entirely on a cycle path and country roads.

What to take with you: sportswear, sneakers, waterproof jacket in case of uncertain weather. Water bottle and spare t-shirt.
