A walking food tour to explore old fashioned grocers and traditional taverns of the old Verona and to discover local specialities.
In this Verona food tour you will taste a small selection of the most representative products of the city. Our gastronomic tradition is strictly link to local history and to different areas of the Province. And this is what you will discover with your guide! The local variety of rice, called Vialone nano grows in the southern plan of the city, rich in natural spring waters while Monte Veronese the typical cheese of this area, is produced in the high pastures of the Lessini mountains, surrounding Verona.
We will stop in a small artisan pasta workshop, where depending on the time of the day, it will be possible to see the skilled pasta masters at work. There we will taste a portion of fresh pasta of the day: tortellini, lasagna or “bigoli” the typical pasta of Verona.
The tour will then be headed to a tavern where you will enjoy a traditional aperitif with little “cicchetto” (the Venetian word for “tapa”) paired with a fresh glass of wine, Soave or Valpolicella.
