In this tasting class you will learn how to conduct an organoleptic analysis of the wine with a certified sommelier. The analysis will start from the wine appearence: the colour,the intensity, the clarity. The visual examination gives a lot of information that anticipate the wine characteristics and style.
You will then enter the fascinating universe of aromas. You will learn to distinguish and evaluate primary, secondary and tertiary aromas. Finally, on the palate you will assess the taste sensations: acidity, sweetness, tannins and alcool. The wine quality is strictly connected to the balance of these components and to the persistance of its flavours.
Since tasting means first of all to fully use sense organs, you will enjoy a blind tasting of some aromatic samples. This is the way to learn how to detect the “pure scents”. The same parfumes that characterized the wines in the tasting. In add, it will be the occasion to test your nose as well. Another experiential moment will be dedicated to test the main wine components: acidity, sweetness and tannins.
During the tasting class you will try local white and red wines. On request we will send you the slides of the class.
